SWICO Agents Take Centre Stage at the UIA Awards

The atmosphere at Hotel Africana on the evening of April 30th was one of celebration, pride, and anticipation. The 15th Annual Insurance Agents Awards, organised by the Uganda Insurers Association, brought together the industry’s finest to recognise excellence in performance, professionalism, and impact.

In his opening remarks, UIA CEO Jonan Kisakye set the tone for the evening by emphasising the critical role agents play in strengthening the insurance ecosystem. He called for deeper collaboration across the industry, highlighting that sustainable growth depends on empowered intermediaries who understand and serve their customers effectively.

The event was graced by the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon. Norbert Mao, whose keynote address resonated strongly with attendees. He spoke not only about the importance of insurance in national development, but also about the responsibility of industry players to build trust and expand access.

Against this backdrop, SWICO stood tall.

Our agents were represented across multiple competitive categories, and their performance reflected the consistency, discipline, and customer focus that define our brand. Three of our agents emerged as standout performers:

Magom Yusuf was recognised as the Best MTP Agent Overall in the Northern Region, a testament to sustained excellence and deep market understanding.
Mubiru Job Simon earned the position of First Runner-Up for Best MTP Agent in the Eastern Region, demonstrating resilience and strong client engagement.
Sarah Katisi secured Second Runner-Up in the same category, reinforcing SWICO’s strong presence in the region.

Although the winners were not physically present, they were ably represented by SWICO colleagues including Ssonko Jackson, Lumala Patrick, and Cedric Bukenya, who received the awards on their behalf.

This recognition goes beyond individual achievement. It reflects a system that works, a culture that supports performance, and a brand that continues to earn trust across the market.
