Our Participation & Leadership

We joined this movement in full spirit, sending our team to run, support, and stand in solidarity with cancer patients and survivors. Our participation was not only symbolic but practical — we contributed resources, volunteers, and manpower to help make the day a success. Through presence, engagement, and support, we affirmed our commitment to community health and social responsibility.

By being part of the Rotary Cancer Run, we aligned ourselves with the vision of strengthening early detection, supporting infrastructure expansion, and reducing the burden of cancer in Uganda.

Why It Matters

Cancer remains one of Uganda’s most pressing health challenges. Each year, tens of thousands of new cases are diagnosed — many too late for effective treatment. Nilepost News+4Nilepost News+4rotaryugandacancer.org+4 The Rotary Cancer Run is a catalyst — it raises funds, yes, but it also elevates awareness, encourages screening, and galvanizes public action.

For example, previous editions of the run have contributed to the establishment of a 36-bed cancer ward at Nsambya and supported the expansion of diagnostic and treatment capacity. Looking Ahead

Having taken part in this year’s run, we are even more motivated to maintain and deepen our engagement in healthcare and cancer support initiatives. We see this not just as charitable participation, but as part of our broader mission to contribute to sustainable community well-being.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers, partners, volunteers, health workers, and, of course, every runner who put on their shoes and joined the cause. Together, with sustained effort and collective will, we believe a future with better cancer care is within reach — not just for a few, but for all.
