From February 10th to 12th, 2025, the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) hosted a high-impact workshop in Arua District, bringing together civil and political leaders from the West Nile sub-region. The event also attracted business owners, farmers, and other key stakeholders, providing a crucial platform to discuss the role of insurance in enhancing financial security and effective risk management.
The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between insurance providers and the public by fostering awareness and education on the significance of insurance in mitigating financial uncertainties. Participants explored various insurance solutions tailored to different sectors, including agriculture, trade, and personal financial planning.
SWICO’s team in Arua actively participated in the event, engaging directly with attendees to demystify insurance policies and their benefits. Our representatives showcased a wide range of insurance products designed to offer security and peace of mind to individuals, businesses, and farmers facing unpredictable risks. Through interactive discussions and real-life case studies, we highlighted how insurance can be a game-changer in protecting livelihoods and fostering economic resilience in the region.
The engagement was not only an opportunity to educate but also to listen—understanding the specific concerns and challenges faced by businesses and individuals in West Nile. This feedback is instrumental in shaping more responsive and inclusive insurance solutions.
As SWICO, we remain committed to driving financial inclusion through insurance, ensuring that all Ugandans, regardless of location, have access to reliable protection against life’s uncertainties. We appreciate the IRA for organizing such an impactful initiative and look forward to further collaborations to expand insurance awareness and accessibility across Uganda.
