On Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, SWICO took a significant step in promoting road safety and awareness by delivering an informative lecture on motor insurance to police officers at the CID Training School in Kibuli. Presented by Mr. Jaggwe Ronald, SWICO’s Manager of Marketing and Distribution, aimed to equip officers with essential knowledge on Motor Third Party and Comprehensive Insurance.
The lecture was part of a broader traffic induction course designed to prepare police officers for the complexities of traffic management and enforcement. Recognizing the critical role that police officers play in maintaining road safety, SWICO sought to bridge knowledge gaps and provide officers with the tools necessary to better understand and enforce motor insurance laws.
During the session, Mr. Jaggwe Ronald covered several key aspects of motor insurance:
The training session was well-received by the attending officers, who actively participated in discussions and sought clarification on various insurance-related scenarios they encounter in their line of duty. By enhancing their understanding of motor insurance, the officers are better equipped to educate the public, enforce regulations, and contribute to overall road safety.
SWICO’s involvement in the traffic induction course reflects its commitment to community engagement and corporate social responsibility. By collaborating with law enforcement agencies, SWICO aims to foster a safer driving environment and raise awareness about the importance of adequate motor insurance coverage.
This lecture is part of a series of educational initiatives planned by SWICO to support various sectors and promote insurance literacy across Uganda. Future sessions will continue to focus on empowering different stakeholder groups with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the complexities of insurance.
