On Saturday, June 24, 2022, the SWICO team traded their suits for jerseys to compete in the highly anticipated Insurance Sports Gala at Kampala International School of Uganda. This annual event brings together over 20 teams from various insurance companies, fostering camaraderie and healthy competition through a range of sports activities.
The SWICO team showcased their prowess across multiple sports, participating in athletics, netball, basketball, volleyball, and football. Our athletes demonstrated remarkable skill and determination, giving their all in every game. Their competitive spirit was evident as they fought hard in each match, aiming for victory and embodying the essence of teamwork and resilience.
Highlights of the day included thrilling performances in tug-of-war, where our team made it to the semi-finals, showcasing strategic play and exceptional teamwork. In basketball, our players displayed agility and coordination, competing fiercely against some of the best teams in the league.
The netball team, known for their precision and quick reflexes, put up a strong fight, while the volleyball team impressed with their powerful serves and effective teamwork. Our athletes in track and field events also brought their A-game, setting personal bests and earning cheers from the crowd.
The Insurance Sports Gala provided an excellent opportunity for team building and networking within the industry. It was a day filled with excitement, sportsmanship, and a sense of community. The event not only highlighted the athletic talents within the insurance sector but also reinforced the importance of health, fitness, and collaboration.
